Who is Georgia Garrett-Norris?
Though information on her early life and upbringing is sparse, Georgia Garrett-Norris's name is scattered across the history of the LGBTQ+ community in Orange County. Holding many titles, the Western State University College of Law graduate was first a practicing attorney, helping many navigate the legal battles that plagued the countless victims of the AIDS crisis. That alone could suffice for reasoning behind her importance in the community, but her works go much further. Using her expertise in legislation, Garrett-Norris helped establish a political presence for the gay and lesbian community in California with her participation in LIFE, ECCO, and the Gay Lawyers' Association.

Notable Accomplishments
First Gay Pride Parade in Orange County
Garrett-Norris participated in Orange County's first Gay Pride Parade and Festival as one of the grand marshals, commemorating all the work she had done for the community.
Establishment of the Lobby for Individual Freedom and Equality
To build a political presence for the gay and lesbian community in California, Garrett-Norris aided in raising $15,000 in pledges for LIFE to start up its operations in Sacramento.
